I always know that when you decide to go the route of renting a cabin you have never seen or been to before, that there are going to be risks involved. You have no idea what you are walking into at the time of the rental. For all you know they could promise you an upgrades zone control heating and cooling system, while you arrive to simply electric fans throughout the house. On our arrival it was intensely hot and humid, we were all grateful at this point for the promised air conditioning unit that was said to be in the cabin. We need to cool down and fast for we were all overheated after our very long drive through the mountains. When we first walked in the doors the stuffy heat from the house hit our faces in the worst way, all we wanted was to open the windows to breathe a little. But then my husband reminded me that we had the air conditioning unit and said to wait to let it cool down the cabin for a minute, I was so grateful! One click on and then one very loud cranking noise followed by a blast of air. But, worst yet, the air was hot! In fact hotter than the air that was in the house or outside already. We were quickly annoyed and started to open all the windows. We called and called the landlord, but only got voicemail. It took three day someone to return our call. He said he could get an HVAC repair provider out to the house in three more day to change the filters, but we were only there a week! We demanded our money back!
