The neighbors across the street were cutting down trees last weekend. I thought the whole project seemed pretty large to try to do alone. Still, the neighbors were outside with chainsaws, attempting to cut down some fairly large oak trees. My husband and I went about our business and didn’t think much more about the problem. Around lunch time, we heard a loud crashing sound in the backyard. We walked outside and found a large tree branch in our pool and on our patio. The tree branch was so large, that it had completely destroyed my outdoor A/C condenser. The tree fell right down in the middle of the A/C unit, and we could not get the A/C system to work after that. My husband walked over to the neighbor and exchanged some words. We had to contact an emergency A/C repair contractor to replace the outdoor A/C unit. MY husband told the neighbors that they would have to pay for the damages, but I think we might have to take them to court. I was certain that the homeowners insurance would cover their careless mistake. When I tried to get the cards, they refused to provide me with insurance information. It cost us a lot of money to replace our outdoor condenser, and it was from no fault of our own. We also paid extra to have a metal cage installed around the A/C unit. That will help us from other trees falling in the yard. During the summer months, we are often doused with terrible thunder and wind storms.
